24. Missy Hyatt (Nasty Boys V Johnny Lorenzo & Chris Nelson - WCW Worldwide 2/12/94)

Video (from 4:03): Nasty Boys V Lorenzo & Nelson

Missy leads her men in
Quite often the best examples of valet interference are when the result of a match is a foregone conclusion, but when the valet in question cannot resist the opportunity to get involved. A classic example is this match during the Nasty Boys' reign as WCW Tag Team Champions, with the dangerous and deadly Missy Hyatt in their corner.

Making their way menacingly to the ring, Hyatt and the Nasties look mean and businesslike while their hapless jobber opposition are surely lambs to the slaughter. As usual, Missy takes the opportunity to flaunt the Nasties' belts to Johnny Lorenzo and Chris Nelson before the match begins, verbally belittling the overmatched opponents.

Hurling abuse at a hurt Johnny Nelson
Predictably, Brian Knobbs starts strongly, instantly taking the upper hand against Nelson. As Sags in tagged in with Johnny already suffering, Missy can be seen and heard mocking Nelson, with Tony Schiavone and Jake Roberts referring to her constant nagging during matches.

Nelson receives a mouthful from Missy...
Soon it is time for the Nasties' valet to turn words into actions though, and with Knobbs distracting the official Sags chokes Nelson on the middle rope. Instinctively Missy moves into place, and is right in Nelson's face hurling a volley of abuse at the stricken wrestler. At 6:20 in, she then lands a forceful right-hand slap squarely on his cheek, landing with such force that Missy's sunglasses fall to the floor. As she wheels away smiling, Nelson can be seen holding the left side of his face, clearly in pain from Missy's slap.

...before a forceful slap lands accurately with the referee distracted
Fortunately for Nelson, Sags throws his opponent into his own corner so he can tag in Lorenzo. It doesn't take long though for some effective double-teaming to end the match, culminating with a flying elbow from Sags off the top turnbuckle for the winning pin.

Missy celebrates as Sags gets the pin
It was clear from the outset that this would be a routine win for the Nasty Boys, but with Nelson in clear trouble and already suffering, Missy couldn't help but get involved when the opportunity arose. The best valets all seem to have a sixth sense to detect wounded prey when the referee's attention is diverted, and Sags served up Nelson on a plate for Missy to dish out her hurtful right hand. A marvellous display from Missy then with a slap that will live long in the memory, especially that of Nelson.

An easy night's work for Hyatt and the Nasties
