1. Vivacious Veronica (Stunning Steve Vs Chuck Coates - WCW)

Video: Stunning Steve Vs Chuck Coates

To get things started, here is a nice example of a beautiful valet getting involved on numerous occasions outside the ring to exert pain on her wrestler's opponent. The lady in question is Vivacious Veronica, a short-term valet of Stunning Steve Austin in WCW from the early 1990s, and she takes every opportunity to inflict damage on the hapless Chuck Coates during the course of this bout.

Veronica's first attack - a kick to the face of a dazed Chuck Coates

As well as constantly haranguing the referee throughout, the ladylike Veronica really gets to work at 2:52 in, after Austin throws a dazed Coates out of the ring onto the floor below. A well-aimed sharp kick to the face of Coates by the Vivacious One is followed by her hitting him with the rose she has brought to ringside, bringing a satisfied smile to her face as she retires to a safe distance and allows Austin to resume his attack in the ring.

Happy with her work and the referee none the wiser

After Coates is thrown ringside again by Austin, a further attack by Vivacious Veronica then follows at 3:20 (unfortunately the cameras choose to focus on Austin being lectured to by the referee while she is at work), and it appears she also hits Coates with her stiletto during this attack before the action returns to the ring.

Coates suffers a hair-raising experience at the hands of Veronica

Her final intervention comes at 4:57, with Coates once again lying prone outside of the ring. A sly hair-pull is followed by Veronica daintily removing any of Coates' stray hairs from her hands that she has pulled out, leaving Austin to clinch an easy win following a clothesline and pin.

Coates berated by Veronica to submit
While Coates was clearly over-matched, Vivacious Veronica certainly helped to continue the suffering of Austin's opponent while Coates was prone outside of the ring. All three of her interventions were unseen by the referee, displaying excellent valet interference technique, and her verbal attacks on Coates in encouraging him to submit (and on the referee to end the match) while Austin had him in an arm-lock (1:45 - 2:15) will have helped further demoralise an already weakened opponent. A truly vivacious valet performance!

Celebrating the win after a vivacious night's work
